Francis Odega is the new definition #GodWin. The actor who is now a super megastar as Koredo Bello would say in his mega hit, is one to look for in the Nollywood and Nigeria entertainment scene. Francis who have been acting healthy comedy since 1996 is now the talk of the town. GERARA HERE (literally meaning Get out of Here) is now the new word in the Nigerian vocab. A word he had coined casually in a movie he did 2012 and probably didn’t get enough from it is now paying him big as every Nigerian who didn’t know him, now knows him, all thanks to Instagram.
The award winning gospel singer Nathaniel Bassey took
to his Facebook page to share with his fans some wisdom using Francis as a study. In a post he titled ‘’When your time of favour comes” in the post he said “there is something about a day of favour that can turn around your years of labour…Francis Odega may not be a pastor, gospel Artiste or even a tongue talking Christian (and he could be), but we can draw inspiration from his testimony.” Read the full post below.

WHEN YOUR TIME OF FAVOUR COMES
Sure someone is
wondering why I would talk about favour using this picture. Now FRANCIS ODEGA,
who is now a mega celebrity has been around for a long time. I know this
because I like healthy comedy programs. In fact I'm a huge fan of Nkem Owoh.
Right from the Pam Pam series days to Ukwa and all. So I'd seen Francis a
couple of times doing his thing on some Naija home videos. However, he wasn't
the mega star like the big names. But today, he is.
His
"Gerara here" video which has since gone viral and become a new
slogan has changed his story. This hit skit is not even something recent o! I'm
sure it was one of those videos he did, and probably earned some little cash
from. Perhaps he could never have imagined that of all the things he has done,
this would signal the turning point of his life.
And here's a lesson for us all, especially those of us
in ministry. E.g., music ministers who keep serving and serving and serving.
Sometimes ministering without much appreciation and recognition. But wait a
minute, there is something about a day of favour that can turn around your
years of labour. In a split second, someone can lay hold on some song you did
years ago. In fact one you didn't even sing well, and were probably off key or
a service you ministered in some remote area of the earth, an article you wrote
years ago, a message you preached and can't even remember, and God would use
that as a trigger to set off your season of favour.
So my brothers
and sister, don't be weary in well doing. Just keep on serving The Lord.

Today he is an Etisalat Ambassador, in hot demand for events, and probably making more money in less than a year than he has ever made throughout his years in Nollywood. But one thing you can see about him is his passion doing what he loves doing. And today his story, at least to some degree, has changed. That's why I know your own too can change. Who would ever think that some phrase, GERARA HERE would lift a man? But when your time of favour has come, God can use the most foolish thing in your life to change your story.
